Gliding and Paragliding
The upper network and air conditions of the Ubaye area are famous. Many enthusiastic tourists come to Ubaye for enjoying these optimal air conditions. Gliding, paragliding, and also small-sized airplane rides can be scheduled. Isn’t it breaking news !
Paragliding - First flights
2 flights are available from the resort of Pra-Loup:
- A little morning flight in calm conditions to get started with a 600 m altitude difference... A gentle descent towards Barcelonnette is possible for children from the age of 5.
- A sport flight with a 1000 m altitude difference along the cliffs of Séolane, or flying over the forest of Gimet, and the Cayolle pass with landing in Barcelonnette. 4x4 ascent along forest roads.
Saint Vincent Les Forts
Scenic flight over the lake of Serre-Ponçon. Takeoff and landing from the village on an adequate runway. Optimal aerologic upward conditions allow take-off and landing at the right same place.
Ideal for small groups and/or families: Everyone sees each other taking-off, flying and landing.Films and photos are shot in the best conditions. Jumps generally in the afternoon.
Barcelonnette Airport
With Its 750-meter track, allows the fans to rise up …very high ! The pilot school offers sessions for beginners or advanced gliders.
First flights are held with a plane or a glider. Special prices and breath-taking panorama over 3000 meters ! One must dare ...
